The solution will be developed on Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT®), a clinical terminology, to help enable semantic health information exchange (HIE) ontology for the clinical vocabularies required for the semantic interoperability. Sweden has completed the first stage of the Swedish National Patient Summary project (NPÖ) following the successful deployment of the Swedish national health record. The NPÖ project has leveraged InterSystems Corporation’s InterSystems HealthShare™, a health information exchange software platform, for the creation of Sweden’s first national electronic health record (EHR).
