ALERT: Cape Cod Healthcare Selects Siemens IT Solutions to Connect Healthcare Network

With the intent of improving efficiency of care delivery and community wellness for its residents, Cape Cod Healthcare has entered into a seven-year health IT agreement with Siemens Healthcare. Through the contract, Cod Healthcare will deploy Siemens’ health information system, Soarian® across its health network. Most of the installation is anticipated to be completed by mid-2011. Microsoft’s Proposed Acquisition of Sentillion to Enhance Healthcare Connectivity

Microsoft Corporation has expressed its intention to acquire Sentillion Inc., in order to facilitate caregivers with the ease in delivering quality care through the combined offerings of Microsoft Amalga Unified Intelligence System (UIS) and Sentillion’s products. The merged expertise is likely to empower caregivers with streamlined access to discrete IT systems and patient information. ALERT: IBM Secures C$22.5 Million EHR Deal with Government of Manitoba

In a step towards facilitating the delivery of quality, efficient and cost-effective patient care across the province of Manitoba, the Government of Manitoba has roped in IBM Canada, to develop an interoperable electronic health record system (EHR). The design and development of the EHR system is in progress, and the deployment is expected to happen in 2010. The project is fund-supported by the Canada Health Infoway and Province of Manitoba. Leveraging the 95th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference platform, MEDecision, Inc., the healthcare management solutions vendor, has announced a strategic cross-licensing and reselling agreement of services, technology and intellectual property with InSite One, Inc.
