RiverStone Health to deploy eClinicalWorks EMR/PM

December 9, 2008

RiverStone Health, a leading provider of personal and public health-services, has selected eClinicalWorks’ unified electronic medical record/practice management (EMR/PM) solution to connect four Montana-based federally qualified health centers (FQHC) and streamline workflow between them. The implementation is supported through the Health Information Technology grant program from the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

With the current installation, RiverStone Health hopes to have better care coordination across the four FQHCs in Montana, facilitating providers with seamless access to patient information from a single EHR system. RiverStone, from a data center in Billings, will host the eClinicalWorks system for its sites and three other Montana FQHCs, Butte Community Health Center, Butte; Missoula-based Partnership Health Center; and Cooperative Health Center in Helena. As part of the agreement, 69 healthcare providers across the four FQHCs will also leverage eClinicalWorks’ enterprise business optimizer (eBO), patient portal and e-Prescribing solutions. eBO, working on meta-data, will support providers in creating flexible customized reports, and carrying out clinical and financial analysis.

eClinicalWorks’ unified EMR/PM will enable providers to evaluate and complete patient histories, past visits, and vital patient health data. The solution, which features registry reporting and clinical decision support tools, will allow patient flow management, electronic communication, and secure exchange of consult notes and clinical information, apart from providing rapid in-house or remote access to patient records.

RiverStone Health, serving across Yellowstone County and south central Montana, operates the largest FQHC in the state. The organization serves communities by providing health, education, leadership and protection (HELP). For eClinicalWorks the current partnership with RiverStone reflects the continuing adoption of its solutions among FQHCs. The privately held vendor’s unified EMR/PM was recently selected by another FQHC, Horizon Health Center, serving Jersey City.

Massachusetts-based eClinicalWorks® provides its unified EMR/PM across a vast market segment, ranging from solo physician groups to enterprise health systems and academic health systems to Community Health Centers/FQHCs. Some of its large practice clients include the Central Georgia Health Network, Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative (MAeHC), Electronic Health Records of Rhode Island (EHRRI) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Hudson Valley Health Information Exchange also selected the vendor’s unified EMR/PM in 2007.

eClinicalWorks recently introduced two new products to expand the use of its EMR/PM system, eClinicalMessenger messaging service, to enhance provider patient coordination and eClinicalMobile to enable providers to access crucial patient data through their smart phones. The vendor has a strong client base of more than 20,000 care providers across the entire nation.
