Federal mandates, such as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), focus on digitizing health records and help facilitate clinical data exchange to reduce errors, lower costs and improve patient care. As wide Electronic Medical Record (EMR) adoption will boost storage growth, patient care will increasingly depend on the ability to reliably and easily access these health records. The mandates outlined in the ARRA ensure that the adoption of EMRs will become more widespread in the coming years.
